You Assumed

You Assumed seeks to ask entrepreneurs over assuming their whys - why not.

The Hook… it's essential to catching the story and your audience...

There are as many ways to tell a story.

We live in a world where you’re barraged by media at every conceivable turn. Countless people are trying to get their messages out there. How do you cut through the noise and get your story heard?

In order to get noticed you need to find “the hook” that connects to your audience. You are searching to identify that “thing, idea, struggle, or situation” that quickly captivates your eye and demands the curiosity to “know what’s going on,” driven into the forefront of your intended customers’ range of perception. You look for the hook that snags your reader, just like an angler baits their hook to catch a particular fish. Sure some may think that and lure would do, but if you are targeting something specific then you need the right bait to that hook!

In storytelling, the hook needs captivate and command your readers to strike at the bait to learn or hear a whale of a tail... This is something today’s guest, Pablo Korona of Our City, Our Story, knows intimately.

“If you have nothing to tell, you have nothing to sell.”

The spark of inspiration can lead to unique stories that inspire others. But telling stories and making your voice heard over and over again can lead a viral video as some of Pablo’s work has done. Knowing each story’s hook, purpose, and message help connect it to the best audience or community. If you know your purpose or the purpose you need to serve then you can begin to craft the story that needs to be heard.

And always remember that it’s important to stay true to your ideals and what makes you... you!

Our City Our Story will also be hosting a LIVE event at the Norwegian in Rockford IL on December 6th

This is open to the public. All are welcome to join, participate, watch, listen and enjoy… A theme of Music with curated storytellers centering around music, and also includes live performances with artist stories either "behind the song", or "behind the artist."

If you wish to be a storyteller or musical performer email pablokorona@ourcityourstory.com and a conversation can begin.

Admission is $5, all of which will go to Carl's family. For more information go their page on facebook or click this link: https://www.facebook.com/events/982088845473395/?active_tab=about
